RECAP: WEEK 19

MOTW for Week 19 was The Reed Dynasty vs. The Barclay Hill Mollies

-I said that I like Reed Green to win 9-6-3 and the Mollies would be stuck looking for revenge in the playoffs after this one.

-Let’s see just how wrong I was:

(the teams line up)

(Jeff Jimmerson belts the anthem like no other)

(Mr. and Mrs. Malkin are on hand for kicks and gwigles)

MONDAY:

-The Mollies get a 3 point night out of Elias, wasn’t he part of some trade?

-Phaneuf fights some turd, mollies get 5 pims.
-Conk-Block with a lame start.
-Mollies get a strong 7 point start.

-Reed’s team musters up 0 points, good start.

-Mollies win day one, let the commanding leads begin. It’s 1-0 BHM.

TUESDAY:

-BHM’s Phaneuf is a beast, and beast is a term I don’t throw around very often. The only other defenseman who has earned my beast title is The Slovakian Beast himself Andrej Meszaros.
-Phaneuf scores 2 goals on the night and grabs 4 more pims, BEAST.
-AK-27 gets 3 assists for the Mollies.
-Frolov, Fro-love. G. W. G.
-9 points on the day for BHM. Great start to the week.

-Reed gets 2 points from Jerome Iginla along with a fighting major.
-Chris “I look like a skinhead” Mason gets a shutout, surprise-surprise he shows up finally.
-Manny Legace lays an egg. That’s 2 goalie starts so far for Reed, surely he’ll get a 3rd right?

-Mollies win day 2 easy. Landslide victory coming in T-minus….

-Days are 2-0 Mollies:

(Mollies eating this one up so far)

WEDNESDAY:

-Rough day for the Mollies from Barclay Hill. 3 points total and a decent start out of Nab-ster.

-Could Reed capitalize and get back in the motw?
-Nope.
-Yawni Pitakanen gets 2 points, Reed would add another from some other jerk-store player.

-Both teams get 3 points, it’s a draw.

-Mollies lead the motw day count 2-0.

-The Green Helmets need to get their heads out of their armpits.

-The Mollies are toying with the Reed Dynamo’s at this point in the motw:

(Dance puppet, dance...)

THURSDAY:

-The Mollies had some Russians show up big time tonight. Kovie gets 2 more and Fro-love tacks on another 3 points.
-Conk-Block city, another killer start out of Ty Conklin.
-7 more points for the Mollies, could 50 points be in their future?

-What’s this? Reed doesn’t set his lineup, is he in California or something? Actually, yeah…
-The players Reed sat on accident combined for 0 points so...no biggy. BUT he does sit a goalie start, but he’ll get his 3rd goalie start at some point...right?
-Vinny Prospal was in the lineup however, and he unearth’s a gwiglet for RD.

("Yep, I said Gwiglet" - Ginger kid)

-Mollies win another day hands down. It’s 3-0 and not about to get close anytime soon apparently.

FRIDAY:

-Mollies bid at 50 is destroyed with a 2 point effort today. Maybe Reed can make a comeback afterall…
-Nab-ster shocks the world with another 4**** start for BHM.
-Craig Rivet gets in a fight, 7 pims for him on the night.
-Savard gets 16 FW in one night, Mollies are really racking up the faceoffs this week like none other.

-Reed sets his lineup. Doesn’t matter. 2 points.
-Joe Thornton = gwignition.

-Mollies win the day thanks to Nab-ster and Rivet. It’s 4-0 BHM.

-Let the meltdown that is the Reed Dynasty begin:

(Chernobyl style)

SATURDAY:

-Cheechoo late blooms like only a mollies knows how, hat trick city time, 4 point effort out of JC. GWG too.
-Elias outshines Kovalchuk again and puts up another 2 point night.
-Phaneuf is a beast once more, he grabs 2 points and a game winner. Dion Phaneuf reminds one that there’s no Canada like French Canada:

(Newfoundland, eh?)

-the Mollies stockpile 14 points on the night. I've seen enough to know that I've seen too much, this one’s over folks.

-Reed manages 10 points, but it’s too late.
-Reed's goalies are inexplicably not in the lineups. Mental error on Dan’s part, he won’t be getting the minimum start requirement of 3 for goalies, OUCH.

(Here's the scene just outside of Reed HQ)

-Mollies win the day, it’s 5-0.

SUNDAY:

-Reed’s team watches Family Matters:

(Solid show back in the day)

-Mollies load up with 4 centers and charge towards reclaiming the face-off wins record for a single matchup.
-They get it, and there was much rejoicing:

>>>>>>>>NEW RECORD SET<<<<<<<<<

-Barclay Hill Mollies, Season 3, Week 19 = 232 Faceoffs Won.

-232 facoffs is now the most any team has won in a single matchup.

-Congrats:

(Applause)

-Mollies win Sunday, almost sweep the week, they win the day count 6-0.

-More importantly: Mollies win the MOTW 17-0-1. That’s the biggest blowout in MOTW history, I’ll put that in the record books.

Observations on this MOTW:

-Mollies put up crazy FW #’s, that record will stand for a while; or at least until the Mollies break it next week.

-Reed Green had 55 face offs won this week, lol.

(“Yeah, you should probably do better” - Kruger)

-Reed accidentally sat his goalies thinking he had 3 starts, oops, he had 2 starts and the mollies take all the goalie cats by default.

-Reed would have needed a good 3rd start to win the cats anyways, shake it off pal.

-No shorties in this MOTW.

-Mollies put up 144 shots on goal, the record is 185 by Finally Adopted last year.

-I’m all about records being broken, keep it up everyone.

-Anyone seen the Mollies resident pale forcer Daniel Briere?

(Didn't think so)

-Elias/Gionta > Kovalchuk this week. Still, it was a good trade for both teams.

-Do the Mollies win the matchup if they still had Kovalchuk?? Yes. Rough week for Reed and his group of vile henchmen.

3 STARS OF THE MOTW:

1* Alex Frolov (BHM) – 7 points, and gwig-city.
2** Elias (BHM) – 5 points, former Dan Reed-er.
3*** AK-27 (BHM) – 5 points.

-Eastern Europeans own the 3 star sweep for the Mollies.

-RECAP is one day late, it was a healthy scratch yesterday.

-New MOTW was a healthy scratch today.

-Vote on the MOTW this week. It’ll be up tomorrow night.

Wow, a 17-0 beating. Congrats on the record breaking FW stat.

I also had a 16-1 winning last week. Can you believe I have only lost 3 times this season? I am just building up for a huge disappointment come playoff time lol.

It's nice being #1 or even #2 for that matter because you get the bye and you are guaranteed a chance to play in the medal round.

Dan finished #1 in season 1 and got bronze then Halfhill finished #1 last year and won it all so...I would be shocked if you didn't win something.
