Week 15: RE-CAP

RE-CAP

Week 15 MOTW: #1 Bone Corporation vs. #4 the Reed Green-helmets

-If you remember, my genius hockey mind predicted Reed would win against B.C. 10-5-3

(alright, maybe it was my crystal ball, sue me…)

Based on the standings it was a bold prediction, but would it hold up?

MONDAY =

-Jeff Jimmerson gets things underway with the National Anthem; there is no one better than Jeff in the NHL:

(and no one that can still sport a butt cut as well as he does, what a human.)

-For Bone; Hemsky decides to shoot the puck more than 0 times, and suprise, he nets a gwigle and an assist for his efforts.

-On the Reed side of things, Radulov gets picked last for dodgeball and gets a -2, then Yawn-i Pitkanen throws in an assist for good measure.

Bone is off to the better start, he wins day 1, it’s 1-0.

(Reed has 1 point, lol)

TUESDAY =

-Eric Staal:

(gwg)

-Bone’s trio of Nash, Staal and Jason Ar’go’nott (had to) combine for 4 points, 3 goals, a gwg, a ton of shots, +2 and 6 pims. That’s some good production.

-Reed makes up for a slow Monday with a monstrous Tuesday. Chris Mason moons shooters on breakaways and pulls off a shutout and Erik Johnson throws up a 3 assist burger.
-Reed’s Em'man'uel Legace dropped by the blog for a 1 GA win, Reed is happy.

-After the dust settles Reed was looking at a solid 8 point night with killer goalie #’s.

Reed wins the day, we’re tied at 1-1.

The matchup is scored at 8-4 in favor of Reed, so we’ll give him the edge after 2 days.

WEDNESDAY =

-Bone Corp's Captain, Brendan Morrow, scores a goal finally.

-Reed Dynamo does absolutely nothing. If Bone somehow blows out Dan, Dan will get some 3 bums OTW votes from a day like today.

(Zing)

Still 8-4, Bone wins Wed. by default:

2-1 Bone, but Dan leads the matchup 8-4, and that's really all that matters.
(Fantasy Hockey is a fickle whore, Bone.)

THURSDAY =

-Lehtonen makes his first start for Bone, he plays well but doesn’t win.
(Hey, he fits right in w/B.C.!)

-Bone manages a measly 5 points, all assists, none on the power-play, meh.

-Whats this? Bone plays Sergei Samsanov over Slava Kozlov? Wait, is it 1998 again?

-Samsanov does nothing, Slava gets an assist, ouch.
-Bone picked up Steve Downie, then sits him when he gets 2 points, then drops him for a guy that is dropped for another guy. Bone C is scrambling for any warm body to play against Reed, word on the street is Billy Tibbetts has been contacted:

(Rapist...)
-BIG night for Reed’s squad. A monster 3 assists out of Joe Thornton, and 2 goals out of Brad ‘little’ Boyes puts Dan in a good place going into the weeked.
-Legace has a killer night and gets the win, BUT Osgood lays the egg. Combined though, their #’s are solid.

-Reed Dynasty was better today, it’s 2-2.

FRIDAY =

-Bone gets a few goals, Nash finds the twine. Federov shows up with 2 assists, one on the PP.
-Bone ends the day with 5 points, meh. Not lookin’ like a 1st place team this week…

-Reed's ex-Bruin Brad ‘little’ Boyes scores again. Someone tell me, why do the Bruins insist on throwing away talented forwards?

(That’s why)

-Reed somehow predicts the Toivenen would blow a flat tire so he sits him, and Toivenen flops around for 6 GA, good call Reed. There is a method to your madness after all.

Draw. Both teams have 8 goals, 13 assists and 21 points heading into the weekend.

2-2-1, nail-biter.

SATURDAY =

-Bone gets a solid 6 points, but that isn't that great considering all of his best players were playing...except for Heatley, his leg fell off or something, he's out at least a month.

-Bone plays Ramo over Lundqvist and Emery. Ramo, doesn't play, the other two have monster nights. You're over thinking it Kim, explain yourself.

-Reed gets another 8 points, Joe Thornton gets another 2 assists.

-Reed gives his goalies a benching, not a bad move, he has goalie stats locked up, right?

Reed wins the day, he's won 3 now. It's 3-2-1 Reed.

(I'm not sure what winning days means but, it's interesting, no?)

SUNDAY =

-Bone loses. Probably loses his #1 spot...and sinking...

-Reed gets 2 more points out of Joe Thornton, and M.A. Berg gets 2 goals and a gwg.

Final score of the MOTW = 11-4-3, Reed Green-Helmets win.

Not bad, I predicted Reed would win 10-5-3, ice-ice!

-Bone wins PIM's again, but loses wins as usual.

-Reed wins points again, but loses face-offs as usual.

-You guys are getting predictable.

3 STARS OF THE MOTW ***

1* 'Man' Legace (RD)- 2 wins, 3 GA, 1.5 GAA, .933%, + lots of manliness

2** Joe Thornton (RD)- 7 points, 5ppp, not enough face-offs.

3*** 'Alice' Hemsky (BC)- 5 points, a gwigle, 2 goals.

-New MOTW to come tommorrow night, right here.

-blogger.com's formatting is mud, so bear with me.

-Any comments on this week's now-completed MOTW?

hahah loved it! let me address some of my "moves"

-Must agree. I am loving Lehtonen so far! Although Harding seems to have gotten the hot seat of late for Minny

-Samsonov getting good ice-time/linemates, looked good in 1st game so gave him a chance. Kozlov been butting it on the 3rd line, was a healthy scratch on this team.

-All that switchin ya..I was pretty much scrambling, my team need a shake up, didn't realize I already had a full line up the next day

-Ramo was penciled in but I checked pretty early and he was playing a weak offensively Florida team. Lundie against MON, was worried about PP + Lundie has been playing horrible. Emery vs DET.. lol no thanks. All in all, yes I was over thinking it.

-HAHA love the picture but I already called it! The beginning of the end!

Still managed to retain my 12-2 in PIM stat! No one pushes my team around. If I don't regain my #1 spot again, I can at least feel good that I brought worst place team last year and held the 1st place position for a few weeks!

BTW, love the blogs! Do moRE!!

haha, glad you liked it.

I think I under-thought my goaltending situation this week, I just played them every time and I'm not sure if it was the best thing to do or not.

Although, it really is there fault, they didn't play well. Especially Backstrom and Biron, they are really falling apart for me, I should have never gotten rid of Vokoun, lol.

Can't really blame you for sitting emery against detroit, especially since Emery has pretty much sucked it up this year.

Good luck with samsonov, he did have a point yesterday right? You never know...

I need to find a stat-cat I can own with, like you with your pims...
